Hi there, my name is Jay Volk. I’m the Chief Growth Officer at ETHERFAX.
What is the mistake we keep making in healthcare? Well, a lot of our problems in healthcare are knowing where we need to go and not knowing how we’re going to get there. There are all these standards that the government has come out with like meaningful use and different standards to exchange data, but data really gets stuck within systems, systems that are proprietary, systems that decide they don’t want to work with each other, and that lack of movement of data really slows down healthcare, making things more difficult for people to get the care they need when they need it.
So the most important lesson learned now that AI is everywhere in healthcare, is how to apply that learning. Once again, the issue is how to get to where we’re going to go.
Everybody knows we need to use more AI. What we’ve done at ETHERFAX is decide that fax is not going anywhere. So how can we apply AI to fax? We use a crawl, walk, run approach, which any organization can use starting small and then moving to other places within the organization as the organization adapts that technology. What we found from our users is that it’s very easy for the organization to adopt and we would encourage all organizations, not just with our product, but with other AI products to start small, learn more about AI and grow. AI is a very powerful tool. It’s not going to replace anybody’s job. It’s just there to make everybody more efficient and make healthcare flow better.
